Reasons to Join

Joining Queen Mary’s very own IEEE Student Branch comes with many exiting benefits. If you haven’t yet seen some of our past and future events then check them out to see what great activities we get up to. As well as Engineering, Scientific and Technical talks, workshops and visits we will also do many social activities. If you are in one of these fields studying here at QMUL or are simply interested in these areas then you should come and become part of the community. Remember that you will also be a member of the IEEE as a whole too!

Steps to Join Us

1. Join the IEEE
First you must be an IEEE Member, if you are already a member, in any capacity, you have already completed the first step; you may skip this section!
To join the IEEE we recommend the Student Membership for now. By joining, not only will you receive the benefits of the Student Branch here at Queen Mary, but you also enjoy all the additional benefits of being in the IEEE. Follow this link to sign up: Join the IEEE

2. Join the Branch
Now you are eligible to join us! Simply register your details with us and you will become an official member of the Student Branch, you will be added to the exclusive mailing list and be updated of all ‘goings on’ and upcoming events. Send us an e-mail requesting membership: (You will need your IEEE Membership number): Join the Branch

3. Enjoy
The easiest step of all! Sit back and enjoy the benefits of the Branch; you will remain a member until either your IEEE Membership lapses or you leave Queen Mary. Get all the latest forthcoming events here: Upcoming Events

Costs

Now we have hit upon the dreaded subject of money. Well, you will be glad to hear that joining, and being a member of the Branch is absolutely free of all charge! However, there is a negligible amount of expenditure to join the IEEE; currently this is USD12.50 (US Dollars!) for a half a year*, or USD25 for a full year. This works out to be £6 for half a year’s and £12 for a full year’s membership!

Some events may have separate costs associated with them. However, we will endeavour to subsidise or find sponsorship for these.
