Elections!

Calling all IEEE members,

The QMUL IEEE student branch would like to draw your attention to its upcoming event, you are entitled to apply for a position as well as vote for the 2011 committee members. Moreover, you can give your say about what activity you would like to see in 2011 as well as volunteer for our upcoming events.

You will need your IEEE membership number in order to vote and details of this event:

When: Thursday 27th January start at 5.30 pm
Where: ITL top floor Quiet Room (number 22 on the following map: http://www.smd.qmul.ac.uk/about/findus/mileend/me_map.pdf)

Detailed Programme:

  1. Welcome and summary of activities
  2. Award ceremony. Prizes for the IEEE Xtreme 24-hour programming competition and Student Paper Contest will be given.
  3. Candidates presentations and elections of the Student Branch committee
  4. Results of the elections
  5. Discussion on the future activities of the Student Branch while enjoying some pizza and drinks

Info on the IEEE Student Branch elections:
By the end of the meeting, the QMUL IEEE student members will elect officers for the student branch: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Only active student members may run for the Chair position. The other positions are open for all IEEE student members in QMUL. Please note that only IEEE student members in QMUL have the right to vote in this meeting, so remember to bring your membership card or your membership number.
If you are interested in running for a position, do prepare a 3 minute short speech and a list of proposed programs that you would advocate for the student branch such as technical seminars, socials events and memberships drives. You can send us (ieeeqmul@googlemail.com) the position that you want to run for and list of proposed programs before Tuesday 25th January.
